Online Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk Agreement

Please read this agreement carefully before completing registration. 

 

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in Iowa Park Youth Baseball Association ("IPYBA") activities, including games, practices, tournaments, clinics, camps, meetings, and other league-sponsored events, involves inherent risks of injury, serious bodily harm, permanent disability, or death.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Being struck by baseballs, bats, or equipment

• Player-to-player or spectator collisions

• Falls and other accidents

• Weather-related hazards

• Equipment failure

• Activities occurring on playing fields, parking lots, bleachers, concession areas, walkways, dugouts, restrooms, and all other league property

I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation in and attendance at IPYBA activities.

 

2. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, I release, waive, and forever discharge the following parties from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of participation in or attendance at any IPYBA activity:

• Iowa Park Youth Baseball Association (IPYBA)

• All Board Members

• League Officers

• Coaches

• Assistant Coaches

• Volunteers

• Umpires

• Sponsors

• Employees

• Agents

• Property Owners

• Facility Operators

• The City of Iowa Park (when applicable)

• Any affiliated organizations

This release applies to claims involving personal injury, illness, death, or property damage except where liability cannot legally be waived under Texas law, including claims involving gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

 

3. Minor Participants

If registering a minor child, I certify that I am the child's parent or legal guardian and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on the child's behalf.

I understand the risks associated with youth baseball and voluntarily allow my child to participate.

 

4. Medical Authorization

If emergency medical treatment becomes necessary and I cannot be reached, I authorize IPYBA personnel to obtain emergency medical care for my child.

I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

 

5. Vehicle & Property Damage

I understand that baseballs, bats, and other equipment may leave the field of play.

I acknowledge that parking on or near IPYBA facilities is entirely at my own risk.

I release IPYBA and all released parties from any responsibility or liability for:

• Damage to any vehicle

• Broken windshields or windows

• Dents or scratches

• Theft

• Vandalism

• Weather-related damage

• Damage caused by foul balls, home runs, thrown bats, flying equipment, or any other incident occurring on or around league property

 

6. Personal Property

IPYBA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, including but not limited to sporting equipment, electronics, wallets, purses, jewelry, clothing, chairs, coolers, or other personal belongings.

 

7. Spectators

I understand that attendance at baseball events involves inherent risks.

This agreement applies to me, my child, and any family members or guests attending IPYBA events with us.

 

8. Photography & Media Release

Unless I notify IPYBA in writing, I grant permission for photographs and video recordings of myself and/or my child taken during league activities to be used in league publications, social media, websites, promotional materials, and other league-related communications without compensation.

 

9. Code of Conduct

I agree to comply with all IPYBA rules, policies, and codes of conduct.

I understand that unsafe behavior, abusive language, threats, fighting, harassment, intoxication, or other unsportsmanlike conduct may result in removal from league property and/or disciplinary action by the league.
